Remembering Aloha...

First Name:  Sammy
Last Name:  Fee
Country (Optional):   Australia
Your Thoughts:  I think Aloha was one of if not the best performance of Elvis' life it shows him at the top of his career doing what he loved and i dont think i could be any prouder of him also the TCB band n Joe Gurcios (yeah cat speel his name sorry Joe) orcestra (cant spell that either!) did an amazing job Well done!!!!

First Name:  Elvira
Last Name:  Khan
Country (Optional):   Germany
Your Thoughts:  It was very, very special to me that the tickets were "sold" against a donation for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. At the end they had raised much more than expected. It shows all the love for Elvis!

Talk Of The Times...

The 1968 Special was taped before a live audience over June 27th and 29th at NBC Studio 4, Burbank. It was later aired before Christmas of that same year, introducing Elvis back to live performances and the public domain as a musical performer. Move contracts tied him up to 1969, where he then returned to liver performances in Vegas...The rest is history...

On the 9th September 1956, Elvis first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, despite previous dismissals of his appearance by Mr Sullivan. With less favoured crticism received, The New York Times stated "He injected movements of the tongue...that were singularly distasteful. When Presley executes his bumps and grinds, it must be remembered by CBS that even a 12 year old's curiosity may be over-stimulated". A Catholic priest denounced Elvis as "a moral injury", and the show as a "voodoo of defiance and frustration".

Priscilla & Lisa Marie Presley's Christmas Message

Folks just received by ElvisOnLine with this years Christmas 2007 CD to fan clubs of If Every Day Was Like Christmas, is a warm message of appreciation and festive greetings...

Dear Friends

We were so delighted to participate in the 30th anniversary edition of Elvis week in Memphis this year. This was the largest, most exciting Elvis week ever. We loved being there together with so many close family and friends, and enjoyed sharing Elvis week with so many of you. We know those of you who could not be in Memphis for the week were there in spirit.

As we observe this milestone year, we know that Elvis would be proud of the continued support of his fans. It is amazing to watch how many new Elvis fans there are as each year passes and what a force Elvis continues to be in our culture. In addition, we look forward to many new exciting announcements to come that will ensure Elvis' legacy will continue on into the future.

We send our deepest appreciation and very best wishes to you all who lead an Elvis Presley Fan Club around the globe, gratefully applauding you and your club members for all you do to honour and celebrate Elvis and his legacy. We wish you a joyous holiday season and a happy healthy 2008.

Sincerely

Prisilla and Lisa Marie Presley

COMING SOON, ELVISONLINE REVIEWS ...

THE LOVE SONGS

Always a true romantic, Elvis recorded many, many love songs throughout his career, beginning with "I Want You I Need You I Love You" in 1956 and running the entire span of his life. Entire eras of his remarkable life and career can be evoked by the mere mention of the title of one of his many love songs. Mention "Love Me Tender" and a hundred images spring to mind. The same can be said for his many other songs of romance. Elvis and his love songs had remained an unexplored area of Elvis' remarkable career. Now,"Love Me Tender. The Love Songs Of Elvis Presley" tells the warm story of the tender side of the King of Rock and Roll. Narrated by Ashley Judd, "Love Me Tender" is Elvis as you've never seen him.

NOV: ALERT!!!

Elvis, No 1 Dead Celebrity Earner 2008

ElvisMatters

The American magazine Forbes just published it's yearly
list of top earning dead celebrities. Elvis is still the number
one in this list with a whopping $52 million. That is more
than some of today's active entertainers. For example,
Madonna earned $40 million. Famous legends as Marilyn
Monroe and James Dean are among the steady names in
the list. New arrivals are actors that just passed away:
Heath Ledger and Paul Newman. Two years ago, Elvis lost
the number 1 position to Kurt Cobain, who's catalogue was
sold in 2006. His name does not appear on the list anymore.

Courtessey: ElvisMatters
What is your opinion of Elvis songs remixed, such as the latest 2008 remix of Baby Let's Play House?
I dislike thinking they spoil the original and Elvis' originality.
I think they are fantastic and contribute to his continued legacy.

What do you think of the scheduled Elvis duets Christmas album to be released?
I think it is a fantastic idea and welcome Elvis' work remixed...
I totally disagree with it and messes with Elvis' original work, something he was strongely against...

What is your opinion of EPE's latest statement and speculated expansion intentions?
I think it will commercialise Elvis too much and loose his original appeal.
I think it is great and promote his name in the music industry and to future generations.

Do you think the CBS Special of 1977 should be released as a Special Edition ?
 Yes
 No

Should FTD go down the road of DVD releases?
 Yes
 No

What is your opinion of Elvis Tribute Artists?
They are excellent and a credit to the continued preservation of Elvis' legacy.
I dislike Elvis Tribute Artists and think that they do nothing, if not tarnish, his legacy.

"Elvis managed to take over a song . . . It's written in stone once he cuts it."

Dennis Linde, writer of "For The Heart"
